What’s the idea behind Bedrock?

The idea for Bedrock has been growing for a while, and it stands a fascinating step for me being 15 years as a venture investor. I’ve always valued and enjoyed close relationships and mentorships with talented and great entrepreneurs with whom I’ve been lucky to work with. Now I'm taking  a step forward becoming even a closer partner for the founders. Being an independent actor is something, which fascinates me a lot. At the same time opportunity to continue actively co-operating with VCs and other investors for everybody’s benefits gives a solid background for Bedrock’s approach.

Is Bedrock a business consultancy firm, a financing advisory or an investor?

Bedrock offers a combination of business building support, a financing advisory and investments adapted for the needs of start-ups and growth companies. It’s crucial that the message to investors is always aligned with real-life business building and plans. These cannot be separated, and they are owned by the founders. Bedrock shortens time to money ensuring that a real-life business building and investor pitching are well aligned, and can be clearly communicated. Bedrock accelerates time to funding in every step until the final closing. Bedrock is motivated for long-term partnerships and equity ownership.

Is Bedrock an angel investor?

Bedrock is motivated to make investments into selected companies it is building active long-term partnerships with - often alongside the advised rounds.

What’s Bedrock’s way of working?

Bedrock offers a hands-on partnership based on the founders’ needs, and targets always a real quantifiable impact. Bedrock values open, honest, smooth and straightforward dialogue, and aims for one truth at the time around the key persons and stakeholders. Bedrock will always find a case-by-case incentive model for mutual benefits.

Which domains or verticals Bedrock has most relevant background or interests?

Based on its heritage Bedrock monitors the market with the eyes of a venture investor mostly being involved in B2B SaaS businesses, both horizontal (e.g. IoT, analytics, data and enterprise applications) and vertical applications and services (e.g. fin tech, health tech). As it has become more un-relevant to draw a strict line between B2B and B2C based on similarities in their business models Bedrock feels comfortable working with both. As an active trainer and health enthusiast Bedrock is especially interested in various opportunities in health tech. Ultimately Bedrock is looking for working with smart and talented people with great ideas to change the world better.

Is Bedrock biased towards any VC investor or other financier?

Bedrock is independent, but has great personal contacts to various VCs, angels, private investors, loan providers or even selected institutional investors.

Will Bedrock become a larger partnership?

Bedrock has a wide network of friends and professionals in a close dialogue on various themes and projects. Bedrock is a believer of a modern work model, where great capabilities and talent are brought together without too formal or complex agreements to achieve great things together. Bedrock is always open for new partners.
